Warning! Graphic Content! Now Ebola victims are left to rot in the streets: Terrified relatives dump them outside for fear of catching deadly virus

Last week, the Liberian government announced a raft of tough measures to contain the spread of Ebola virus disease, including shutting schools, imposing quarantines on victim's homes and tracking their friends and relatives. Thus terrified relatives in a desperate bid to avoid being quarantined have dragged out remains of their loved ones stricken with Ebola virus and dump them on the nearby roads.

Investigation revealed that the isolation wards run by the government are not properly managed. ‘’With less than half of those infected surviving the disease, many relatives regard Ebola isolation wards as death traps, they are therefore removing the bodies from their homes and are putting them out in the street, an act which the country’s health officials frowns against' Mr Lewis Brown, Liberian Information minister, told Reuters.

The deadly virus, which can cause victims to suffer from severe bruising and bleeding from the eyes and mouth, has claimed the lives of more than 900 persons across West Africa so far.
