According to a new study, there has been
more than 200 reports of vampires in Britain over the past 100 years – compared
to just eight in Transylvania. And vampires are not the only spooky goings-on
that have sent shivers down the spine of Brits. There have been a staggering
11,204 reports of paranormal activity in the UK over the past century, with
human form ghosts topping the list with 4,149 sightings.

Yorkshire tops places for vampire sightings |
Road and river phantoms come in second
place, with 2,411 sightings, while simple strange sounds come in third. Vampires
come in at seventh on the list, just above big cats, werewolves and monsters in
general. And if you want to avoid the unexplained, don't go to Yorkshire as it
tops the list of areas with the most spooky goings-on, followed closely by
London and Lancashire.
Paranormal expert Lionel Fanthorpe said
of the results: "Our research and investigation has suggested that the
UK harbours more vampires than Transylvania and that certain areas of Britain
may be referred to as ‘horror hotspots’ not solely because of their vampire
reports but also because of the number of reports of general paranormal
phenomena emanating from them."
