You only see this in the wild; As stealthy as a nuclear submarine, a hungry hippo surfaces in an African river

A large hippo was pictured gliding gracefully through the water has it headed for the kill. Its 'prey' was a nearby boat full of sight-seers which quickly made off when the skipper finally spotted the creature from the deep.
Gliding for the kill hippo style
Tourist Deena Sveinsson, a commercial airline pilot, had her camera at hand and managed to capture the moment the head of a large hippo appeared camouflaged in the brown water as it chased after the boat crammed with tourists. The animal looked more like a stalking crocodile than a cumbersome hippo. The large mammal had earlier submerged itself before seemingly gliding gracefully head first out of the water. The event happened on the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Hippos don’t share, especially their space!

Sushi lover's entire body left riddled with WORMS after eating contaminated sashimi

It is the most expensive - and many would argue delicious - part of a sushi menu. But one man's love of sashimi nearly killed him after it led to his body becoming riddled with tapeworm. The Chinese man had gone to his doctor complaining of stomach ache and itchy skin. To his horror, scans revealed his entire body had been infected with tapeworm after eating too much sashimi - raw slices of fish.
Scans reveal the extent of the tapeworm infections
Doctors believe some of the uncooked Japanese delicacy of raw meat or fish must have become contaminated. Tapeworm infections occur after ingesting the larvae of a tapeworm found in freshwater fish such as salmon. Although it could still be transmitted through marinated and smoked fish.

For men: Avoid heart attacks with just these simple tips

A study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found four out of five men could avoid a heart attack if they give up cigarettes, cut back on alcohol, and eat a healthy diet and exercise. It also concluded that adopting a healthy lifestyle could dramatically reduce the risk of early death - and giving up each individual bad habit lowers the risk. The earlier the men change, the more protection against heart attacks they accrue, the Swedish researchers found.
Men with the optimum lifestyle were non-smokers who walked or cycled for at least 40 minutes per day, exercised at least one hour per week and had a waist circumference below 37 inches. They also drank moderate amounts of alcohol, and ate a diet packed with fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, reduced-fat dairy products, whole grains and fish.
Men who exercised at least one hour a week reduce heart attacks
The study also found even in those who take medication, a healthy lifestyle as highlighted has an additional reduction in risk for chronic heart disease.
Professor Akesson leader of the research team said: 'It is important to note that these lifestyle behaviours are modifiable, and changing from high-risk to low-risk behaviours can have great impact on cardiovascular health. 'However, the best thing one can do is to adopt healthy lifestyle choices early in life.'
The study followed 20,721 healthy Swedish men aged 45 to 79 over 11 years.

Newborn baby has 12cm 'tail' - that was his twin - removed from his back

A baby in India born with a 12cm 'tail' has had it removed at just five days old. It was revealed that the baby was born with a heteropagus conjoined twin, where his sibling was anatomically incomplete and had formed as a tail on his back. If left untreated, this child's growth may have become cancerous, so his parents and medical team at Aarna Superspeciality Hospital, in Ahmedabad, North West India, were keen to operate. His mother, Jamnibhen Patel, from Fatehgarh village, in Gujarat, says she was devastated her fourth child had such a deformity and insisted that it must be removed to enable the child live a normal life.
Doctors preparing the baby for the 4Hr surgery
Dr Rohit Joshi, chairman of the hospital where surgery took place, said: ‘Heteropagus conjoined twins are asymmetrically conjoined twins. [They] differ in several ways from symmetrical conjoined twins, as they have no major connection of vessels, bowels or bones. ‘It is more commonly reported in India and Africa.’ He added that such an anomaly can be detected in the prenatal period with an ultrasound and then confirmed with an MRI.

The baby underwent a four-hour operation to remove the 350g growth, despite the fact keeping it could have given him a privileged life in India. It would be recalled that twelve-year-old Arshid AliKhan, or Balaji to his worshippers, has a six inch tail and Hindu followers flock to see him daily at his temple near Chandigarh, northern India. The operation was funded with help from community authorities and well-wishers.

Bad at maths? Researchers says its mum’s fault. I expect protests from moms now…: Numerical skills are decided in the womb, scientists discover

Whether you believe it not, scientists have given every boy or girl who score low grades at maths class a sigh of relief. They can place the blame on their moms’ doorstep.

This just melts my heart! Adorable moment three-year-old interrupts homecoming military procession to hug his mother after her nine-month tour of Afghanistan

It was the emotional moment these soldiers had dreamed of for nine months in Afghanistan: to finally be dismissed so they could see their families. But as they dutifully waited in line to receive orders, three-year-old Cooper Waldvogel took charge. Ignoring the strict military protocol, he ran up to the troops and into the arms of his mom Kathryn, a member of the National Guard.

The line of uniformed officers from Chisholm, Minnesota, tried desperately to keep straight faces as the touching display reduced many to tearful smiles and laughter.
But 25-year-old Kathryn could do nothing to contain her excitement. 'I was longing to hold him, that's all I thought about,' Ms Waldvogel told USA Today. 'It just melts my heart'.
What military protocol! I want my mom, please
The troops who served with the National Guard's 114th Transportation Company had been ordered not to interact with family members as they stood in line. Hopefully no disciplinary measures was taken against Ms. Waldvogel.

OFFICIAL: Britain has more VAMPIRE sightings than Transylvania: That's Why Most Vampire Movies are Shut in Britain

According to a new study, there has been more than 200 reports of vampires in Britain over the past 100 years – compared to just eight in Transylvania. And vampires are not the only spooky goings-on that have sent shivers down the spine of Brits. There have been a staggering 11,204 reports of paranormal activity in the UK over the past century, with human form ghosts topping the list with 4,149 sightings.
Yorkshire tops places for vampire sightings
Road and river phantoms come in second place, with 2,411 sightings, while simple strange sounds come in third. Vampires come in at seventh on the list, just above big cats, werewolves and monsters in general. And if you want to avoid the unexplained, don't go to Yorkshire as it tops the list of areas with the most spooky goings-on, followed closely by London and Lancashire.
Paranormal expert Lionel Fanthorpe said of the results: "Our research and investigation has suggested that the UK harbours more vampires than Transylvania and that certain areas of Britain may be referred to as ‘horror hotspots’ not solely because of their vampire reports but also because of the number of reports of general paranormal phenomena emanating from them."

Vitiligo Sufferers Help is Right Here.

Lisa Johnson, 24, who is from Los Angeles was left with huge white patches all over her body after developing skin condition vitiligo as a child and you can imagine whom bullies will target with her in their mix. But a new treatment and a state of the art makeover could be about to change that.
Lisa with Dr. Grimes before the therapy treatment
She said: 'It's a condition which causes my skin to turn a different colour. 'I now have white patches covering more than a third of my body.' The condition is not life-threatening but its psychological effects can be devastating to sufferers.

After 17 years of suffering she has turned to a skin specialist  for help. Dr Pearl Grimes said: 'This condition dramatically affects quality of life. 'It can interfere with a person's physical and mental well-being with devastating effects. 'But there is hope available for Lisa, I'm recommending a course of Narrowband UV light therapy which should re-colour her skin.'

The therapy could take some time to take effect, so in the short term Lisa has been given a specialist cover-up product. A computer generates a special formula after analysing images of Lisa's skin and it tells a dermatologist how much of each colour to use to cover over the white patches. After the procedure, Lisa said: 'It just feels absolutely fantastic - to see the smile on my sister's face when she saw me really warms my heart and my soul. 'I feel like I can be me again.'

Other sufferers of the disease is late American superstar, Michael Jackson. Vitiligo is a long-term condition that causes pale, white patches to develop on the skin due to lack of a chemical called melanin. Melanin is produced by specialised skin cells called melanocytes, which gives your skin its colour and protects it from the sun.

A proud father’s photo shoot with his baby, gets messy after newborn baby goes to the toilet in his father's arms

A father cradles his slumbering newborn son in a stylish black-and-white professional photo. It's an image proud Al Ferguson, from Kent, and his partner, Jen, will no doubt treasure. The baby had other things in mind, because a mere frame later, four-day-old baby Ted decided to really make his mark... by squirting out an impressive stream of poop across his dad's arm. Now the sweetest part of the story, after relieving himself on his daddy’s arm, the expression on Ted's face was that of pure contentment.
Now that's off my chest, this is blisss..hmmmm
‘It happened within a second, As I felt his stomach tense, in the back of your head you know he’s about to go poo, and then before you know it… he’s doing it.’ Mr. Ferguson told a local newspaper. The pictures have gone viral scoring more than 22,000 shares online.

Some of the things we do for love

Love is a powerful tonic and when it’s drunk, it goes deep down in your system. Two people in love would do almost anything for each other and when kids are involved, this character trait becomes strongest.
I have made concerted efforts to list out some of the things we do for love. You might not have done any of the listed points, but you will soon. It’s just a matter of time.
Rubbing feet of your spouse creates deep connection

Rubbing Feet
This is a sure killer. Naturally you know what massage does to the body and when it is done by your loved one, the pleasure is endless and most of you feel loved. Now the funny thing is this, don’t expect a reciprocal response from your spouse immediately. Most times, rubbing of your wife’s feet, might lead to things that occur after dinner.
Squeezing of Acne
My wife does this with a passion and her zeal is guided by the hatred she has for acnes and when it appears on her man’s face, she becomes “no way is that showing on my man’s face!”.
Cleaning up vomit
Did you just say yuck? Cleaning up your baby’s vomit is one thing. But what if the “baby” is around your own age? No doubt cleaning this nasty stuff up is no fun, but you realize that when your spouse is sick you are the only person around to help him or her out. This is been the strong one when the other partner is down.
Using the bathroom together.
I am not talking about you and your hubby taking a shower together. That is absolutely romantic and would be included in the list of things we enjoy. I am talking about you taking a shower and your spouse using the toilet at the same time. Men might be less sensitive about this topic while ladies, especially those who consider themselves clean freaks, find this awfully nasty. Whether you like it or not, some couples do this.
 Picking teeth.
In comparison to the previously mentioned things this one sounds quite ok. If you haven’t yet been asked to see if something is stuck in your hubby’s teeth, then, I can assure you, it will soon happen. Luckily, most couples do not find it appalling, some gladly dig out whatever is stuck in-between their spouse’s teeth.
Your spouse’s annoying snoring or farts

Snoring aspect, well we could understand, but fart? Some spouse see it as the height and proof of how much you love and can tolerate them. If you can endure this part of your relationship, you can take anything that comes your way.

Don’t believe everything doctors tell you. How the boy born with the upside-down head has defied doctors who told his mother to let him die

Resourceful Claudio Vieira de Oliveira, 37 knows more than a thing or two about overcoming adversity. Medics told his mother to let him starve to death after he was born with a rare condition of the joints that left him with severely deformed limbs ... and an upside-down head. But despite his physical limitations, Claudio, from Monte Santo, Brazil, has defied doctors' doubts to become an accountant and inspirational public speaker. 'Since I was a child I've always liked to keep myself busy and work - I don't like to depend totally on other people,' he said. 'I do a bit of accounting, research for clients and consulting. 'I have learned to turn on the TV, pick up my cell phone, turn on the radio, use the internet, my computer - I do it all by myself.'
Claudio with his mother(green top) and siblings
His mother beaming with pride and joy sums it up this way; but there's only happiness now. Claudio is just like any other person - that's how he was raised in this house. 'We never tried to fix him and always wanted him to do the normal things everyone else does. 'That's why he is so confident. He is not ashamed of walking around in the street - he sings and he dances.'
Claudio tells his audience that he doesn't see things upside
At eight years old, Claudio, who had previously been carried everywhere, began to walk on his knees. Nothing has ever brought Claudio’s spirit down. : 'Throughout my life I was able to adapt my body to the world. Right now, I don't see myself as being different. I am a normal person. 'I don't see things upside-down. This is one of the things I always talk about in my interventions as a public speaker. Very brave man indeed!
