Nigerian drug mule dies at Madrid airport after bags of cocaine he'd swallowed split open and left to die because terrified staff thought he had Ebola

A Nigerian drug mule has died in a Spanish airport after cocaine bags inside his body split open - because airport staff refused to touch him fearing he had Ebola. The man collapsed in the customs area of the Madrid-Barajas airport outside the capital after arriving on a flight from Istanbul. Upon hearing that the man was from Nigeria, staff were too afraid to approach the man and left him in shivers on the airport floor.

China 'overtakes U.S. as the the world's largest economy': IMF says economy is now worth £11 trillion as America falls into second place for the first time since 1872

The Daily Mail UK, reports that China is now the largest economy in the world, according to figures from the International Monetary Fund. The top dog position economically has been the US when it overtook Britain in 1872, but has now lost that status as economic indicators suggests.

The latest IMF figures show the Chinese economy is worth £11trillion compared with £10.8trillion for the US. China – whose wealth has accelerated in recent decades amid rapid industrialisation – is expected to extend its lead, with the IMF estimating its economy will be worth £16.7trillion in 2019.

The numbers are based on ‘purchasing power parity’ (PPP) which makes adjustments for the fact that goods are cheaper in countries such as China relative to the US. But experts have described the toppling of America after nearly 150 years by China – even on the PPP measure – as a ‘symbolic’ moment for the global economy.

How grapefruit really can help us lose weight: Drinking fruit's juice when eating fatty food can help reduce weight put on by a fifth

A study has found that drinking grapefruit juice ( also known as the Grapefruit Diet or Hollywood Diet) when eating fatty food lowers the amount of weight put on by up to a fifth.
The Grapefruit Diet, also called the Hollywood Diet, dates back to the 1930s. It involves having grapefruit or grapefruit juice with every meal while cutting back on calories.

Grapefruit juice should be taken to cut down weight
Consistent intake of the juice also lowers blood sugar and insulin levels. In fact, grapefruit juice was as good at controlling insulin as the widely used diabetes drug metformin, the journal PLOS ONE reports. Because of the positive effects of grapefruits on humans, The British Dietetic Association said the fruit now needs to be thoroughly tested in humans to see if it could help with weight loss and stem the rise of obesity and diabetes.

Spokesman Mariette Abrahams, a dietician, said until then it is too early for people to try grapefruit diets. ‘Grapefruit should be part of a healthy balanced diet, but it shouldn’t be the focus of the diet,’

For all weight watchers, you have got nothing to loose, give it a trial and remember moderation.

You only see this in the wild; As stealthy as a nuclear submarine, a hungry hippo surfaces in an African river

A large hippo was pictured gliding gracefully through the water has it headed for the kill. Its 'prey' was a nearby boat full of sight-seers which quickly made off when the skipper finally spotted the creature from the deep.
Gliding for the kill hippo style
Tourist Deena Sveinsson, a commercial airline pilot, had her camera at hand and managed to capture the moment the head of a large hippo appeared camouflaged in the brown water as it chased after the boat crammed with tourists. The animal looked more like a stalking crocodile than a cumbersome hippo. The large mammal had earlier submerged itself before seemingly gliding gracefully head first out of the water. The event happened on the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Hippos don’t share, especially their space!

Sushi lover's entire body left riddled with WORMS after eating contaminated sashimi

It is the most expensive - and many would argue delicious - part of a sushi menu. But one man's love of sashimi nearly killed him after it led to his body becoming riddled with tapeworm. The Chinese man had gone to his doctor complaining of stomach ache and itchy skin. To his horror, scans revealed his entire body had been infected with tapeworm after eating too much sashimi - raw slices of fish.
Scans reveal the extent of the tapeworm infections
Doctors believe some of the uncooked Japanese delicacy of raw meat or fish must have become contaminated. Tapeworm infections occur after ingesting the larvae of a tapeworm found in freshwater fish such as salmon. Although it could still be transmitted through marinated and smoked fish.
